Revealed Travel: Coming to a National Park Near You

Summer is just around the corner, and if you’re like me, you’re ready to get outside and travel to new destinations. I have spent over three decades exploring and writing about the Hawaiian Islands, sharing the amazing things to see and do there. It still is one of the most incredible travel destinations in the world and I will continue to be your trusted guide whenever you choose to visit Hawai‘i. But we all feel that tug to explore new places at some point and I’ve been bit by the travel bug. It started with Las Vegas around five years ago. I’ve always known Vegas is the kind of place where you could spend months exploring and still not see half of what it has to offer. I was not wrong—Vegas does not disappoint as a travel destination. You won’t believe just how many things I’ve found to do and see in Las Vegas, both in the city and the surrounding areas. (There’s so much content there that I had to go all digital through my smartphone app to hold it all.) Now I’m expanding my horizons even farther. Revealed Travel is venturing forth into our incredible National Parks. And this time it’s not just written guides—I’ve created audio driving tours as well. Here’s just some of what you can expect from Revealed Travel Guides in the coming weeks and months.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park Revealed

This is the most visited National Park in the U.S.A., and for good reason! Nestled in the mountains of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee, Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one of the most easily accessed parks in the eastern U.S. The landscape is beautiful, with each season bringing it’s own color palette and set of activities. If you’ve never visited, you’ll be floored by the amount of trails, waterfalls and wildlife that seems to be around each bend in the road. Whether you’re doing more of a driving tour or a more in-depth exploration, my guides will show you the best spots to take in the views to make the most of your time. Advice on the best time to visit, detailed reviews of hiking trails and points of interest, where to see wildlife, history of the area and more can be found in my forthcoming guide to Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Acadia National Park Revealed

Precipice Trail in Acadia National Park

On the rocky shores of Maine is one of the jewels of the National Park system—Acadia National Park. Once the summer playground of America’s movers and shakers, it’s now a natural wonderland for all of us to enjoy. If you were looking for an excuse to head to New England to try a lobster roll (or “lobstah rohl” in the local dialect), this National Park is all the reason you need to head north. Lump-in-your-throat vistas of the ocean and islands, boat excursions, incredible wildlife and natural features, old carriage roads perfect for biking, plus amazing hiking trails you never realized could be part of the National Park system (I’m looking at you, Precipice Trail) can all be found at Acadia National Park. There is so much more to this park than I initially realized and I can’t wait to share all that I’ve discovered.

Death Valley National Park

Death Valley National Park and Dante's View

Don’t let the name deter you—Death Valley National Park is a place of discovery. This immense park has way more going on than hot temperatures and desert landscapes. (Though, there are plenty of those things.) You can find snow capped mountains, chiseled canyons, vast sand dunes and a surprising amount of wildlife. Not bad for the hottest place on the planet. This park covers such a wide area, having a guide to help determine the best places to go and the best ways to get there is essential. Luckily, my GPS-aware driving tour is just the travel companion you’ll need to tackle this land of extremes. The drive tour is just like having me in the car with you, guiding you to and pointing out the best stuff that will be worth your time. (It’s probably better than actually having me on the trip with you—I’d be asking you to buy me an adult beverage at the end of the day.)

I’m in the business of helping make lifelong memories. Exploring new places is part of who I am. I love to share the adventures and amazing sights I find along the way. If you’re already familiar with my guides, then you’ll know how much fun we’ll have exploring these National Parks together. If you’re new to Revealed Travel Guides and my writing style, you’ll soon find that my believable guides will lead to unbelievable vacations. Creating these new guides is only the beginning, and I can’t wait to share even more of this incredible country’s National Parks with you.
