Getting on an airplane in order to visit Hawaii could soon be a thing of the past. Élon Musk (founder of Tesla and Space X) and Mark Zuckerberg have reportedly teamed up on one of the most ambitious construction projects in the history of mankind. A highly advanced, (and grotesquely expensive) 12 lane floating bridge, that would connect California to Kauai. Rumors of the plan began to surface last week. The bridge will be complete with fueling stations, rest stops, convenience stores, restaurants, and even a hotel along the way (we will definitely be reviewing this one.) We found this all really hard to believe, and almost wrote it off as a joke, but after multiple unrelated sources corroborated this story, we had to check it out for ourselves. On a tip, we checked public records and found out that Zuckerberg did recently purchase a large parcel of property near Larson’s Beach on Kauai for $100 million. Not only that, while sorting through recent land acquisition records we came across some even more convincing evidence. The same day Zuckerberg purchased the land near Larson’s beach he also purchased land in Lihue (on Kauai’s east coast.) Our curious nature kicked in, and we began digging. Next we checked Oahu, and guess what, two more very large land purchases on the very same day, on opposite sides of the Island. The pattern was becoming clear to us. Not only is there going to be a bridge from the mainland to Kauai, but soon all of the islands will be connected with floating bridges. Details are hard to come by right now, people close to the project are tight lipped, and for good reason. The consequences of such easy access to these islands could prove disastrous to the struggling airline business, and we can imagine they won’t be too happy about all of this. We will be following this very closely and update as soon as we know more….oh one more thing we almost didn’t mention…April fools.
