This location got funned-up in 2023 when it opened as the Wayfinder Waikiki—a boutique hotel that feels designed for the trendy (somewhat nostalgic) traveler. The new décor is fun with eclectic, vintage Hawaiiana elements, but renovations seem mainly to be skin deep, and room features and amenities can still feel a little dated (which almost makes this place better to us… the nostalgia angle is working).
Wayfinder doesn’t want you to just be trendy. They want you to do trendy, hoping that you’ll join in their Friday night sunset swims where you’ll find DJs and some combination of on-site piercings, free churros, tray bites, etc. Their pool is definitely a grounds highlight—it’s quite picturesque, so many of their other activities are centered around it (from aqua fitness to poolside vibes and more). They also host cultural and environmental activities for guests.
Studios are 242–484 sq. ft., 1 bedrooms are 600–700 sq. ft., 2 bedroom penthouse is 1,245 sq. ft. All things considered, this is a Solid Gold Value, especially if you book ahead of time.
