Whalers Cove

by | Mar 13, 2012

Tucked away in a residential area of Po‘ipu, this lovely condo property sits on a serene, rocky point. The grounds are well-manicured, and the pool setting is outstanding. Though individually owned and decorated, units are well-furnished with koa wood doors and even koa floor trim in the closets. Back in the day, the units were some of the most expensively furnished in the area, and even today most have been updated and still compete. The resort is very quiet, and they provide more personalized service than you may find elsewhere with excellent, friendly and helpful staff. (They will even do your grocery shopping before you arrive and stock your refrigerator.) Some units have Jacuzzi bathtubs, many overlooking the ocean. They are not on a beach, but there is a snorkeling cove nearby. They will lend you gear to snorkel and take to the beach. There is one accessible unit with an elevator (but you won’t be able to access the pool because it has stairs to the access); the rest involve stairs either up or down to units. In all, it’s expensive but worth the money if you get a deal. 1/2 units are 995 sq. ft. (These actually have 2 bedrooms, but you are limited to two people and charged as if it were 1/2.) 2/2 units are 1,390–2,060 sq. ft. 3/3 units with all bedrooms facing the ocean are 2,090 sq. ft. 3- or 7-night minimum. The below agent may have different amenities and charges a cleaning fee but does not charge a resort fee.
