Pacific 19 Kona sits in the heart of Kailua-Kona and was part of the former Kona Seaside Hotel located across the street from Kailua Bay. It reopened in 2023 after it closed for long-awaited renovations. The buildings were built over time several decades ago, but only the tower remains as part of the new hotel.
They describe Pacific 19’s aesthetic as “island-urban” and is geared to those wanting a community feel. Be prepared for loud events (most open to everyone, not just guests) that might be annoying or fun, depending on your preference.
Rooms have been updated and are clean, though minimal. Sounds do carry between rooms, especially the (ahem) plumbing sounds. You won’t find waterslides, glass elevators or an atrium the size of Kaua‘i, but you will find a pleasant hotel with a central location and fairly reasonable rates staffed by friendly folks. If that’s what you are looking for, stop looking. You’ve found it.
Standard rooms are 270–300 sq. ft., suites are 612 sq. ft. Discounts usually available.
