These Hawai‘i Big Island condos are smallish but clean, and the price is decent. Some Kona Makai units are upgraded, while others feel dated. The grounds are pleasant. Only buildings 1 and 6 will get you close to the ocean; consider springing for them. End oceanfront units are certainly the most desirable with commanding views. Building 4 units ending in 01 or 06 have their views blocked by the buildings in front of them. If you are in building 1 or 2, expect to park far away from your unit. Most units have lanais off the bedroom in addition to the living room. Some units may not have a phone. This property is gated after 8 p.m. 3- or 4-night minimum.
