We find this hotel quaint and comforting with helpful staff and a hotel cat (that has his own guest-filmed YouTube video). It also helps that it’s one of the better bargain hotels in Hilo. Rooms are clean and have complete kitchens. No phone in your room, but you can always use the one in the lobby… or the one in your pocket. The coqui frog problem here is particularly noticeable, and they will give you free earplugs, but some guests actually enjoy the sound. Free coffee and fruit in the morning. An easy place to recommend. They offer standard, standard deluxe and superior studios (bed types are main difference, but superiors are worth the upgrade, in our opinion), one- and two-bedroom units are also available. The two-bedroom unit has only one bathroom. 2-night minimum in certain rooms.
