This condo property on the south side of the island is a long way from other towns. The condo complex is mostly timeshares (though you won’t find any salesmen around) in the heart of SeaMountain, a very remote region in the southern part of the island. The grounds are pleasant and units, though not remarkable, are clean and consistent in decor through the above agent. Think of this as an alternative place to stay if you want to explore Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park (28 miles away) but still want to stay near the shoreline where it’s more tropical (though the units are not beachside).Colony One at SeaMountain is very quiet and peaceful. Lots of stairs at this property, mostly in the units themselves. Mid-stay housekeeping is available for nine or more night stay (or daily for an optional fee). Washer/dryer in most, others use coin-op laundry. They have beach chairs and snorkel equipment for rent for $10 per day. The prices feel high to us. You may find owners renting units for less, but the decor/quality will vary. Closest (not cheapest) grocery shopping is in HOVE. Studios (475 sq. ft.) are $132–$182, 1/1 units (700 sq. ft.) are $147–$201, 2/2s (1,000 sq. ft.) are $178–$228. Prices include tax.
